For You gave me a heart…

For you gave me a heart and you gave me a smile

You gave me Jesus and you made me your child

And I just thank you Father for making me, me

I love this song, it is one that is sung by little children and I have taught many to sing it, but it is just recently I thought about it. He gave me a heart; He gave you a heart. This is probably why I shed a tear when I watch someone giving a story about their tribulations in this life. Shedding a tear is one thing and doing something about it is another.

Actually what made me think about this is Clay Muganda’s article on our president crying over the plight of a poor girl who had struggled so much to go through primary school. At first, I was mad at him for making it look like it was wrong for the President to be sympathetic but then it hit me, why should you cry if you will not do everything in your power to alleviate the pain of the distressed?

God gave me heart, not just to pump blood around my body but to make me human; to reach out to those in need of love, support and knowledge. So whether I cry when GBS or any other TV channel airs the stories of kids with unimaginable ailments and I do not do something that shows I care, my heart is just like any other mammalian one.

Whether crocodile or genuine tears, what do I do after that? What do you do?

There is nothing wrong with crying, even if you are a man. Jesus wept but right after that, he raised Lazarus from the dead. What more can I say, Jesus is the perfect example for all of us to follow.

John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

Spread the love!
