Or maybe I should just say kittens and puppies. It’s been raining cats and dogs at home, literally. For starters, she finally delivered four lovely kittens! Yeah. That weekend I was in Kisii, she decided it was time. It was decided that I was not to be told because I left her. Lol. But my baby sis, Claire, wouldn’t let that happen. So she sneaked away and texted me on dad’s kabambe. Gotta love my fam. I was super excited that Saturday night. So I called Kim, my small big bro. He told me only one kitten was out by the time he found mother cat. Apparently she delivered on Mark’s bed (my small bro). Haha! That made me laugh. I was going to wait till morning to find out how many they were in total.
You take the painkillers and they simply don’t work. Not in the least. You get that headache again on a Friday night and you just get mad at the world. You don’t finish your supper and just shut everyone out and go to bed. To struggle to sleep. You decide to not move out of the house the next day. To stay put. To iron all the clothes that have piled up over the month and just chill out. Your hair’s a mess. The growth is just annoying. Maybe that’s why your head is aching. That growth is always painful anyways.
Inspiration. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nothing.
Why? Because I have been quite happy the past few weeks. I got used to the status quo. I got used to my commute, my job, my everything.
I wake up fully at 10:00. It is a Saturday and it is not my wedding day, so I do not see why I should have woken up earlier. Mum dropped by the room and left instructions before this. Someone had tried to wake me up with a text at 08:43 and I told him to try harder. Someone else tried waking me up with a call at 08:47. She laughed hard when she realized I was in bed. Do not call me before 10:00 on any Saturday from now on. Thanks. The only reason I get out of bed is because mum calls at 10:02 and asks if we are up (and that I am to water the cabbages in the garden since she has noticed they were dying lol). Also, Claire finally stirs in the other bed. I cannot let the eight-year-old roam the house alone.
There are memories I hate to remember. Bad memories. Fortunately or unfortunately, those are the ones I remember. […]
Today I will be brief. I spent a day with students who were paying tribute to a teacher […]
I am finally on my way home, yaayy! All the same, I am extremely hungry because I get real excited at the prospect of going home. So much so that I forget I have a tummy on days like this. It hits me in the middle of the five hour journey. Not to mention I am so bored because all I can listen to is the annoying Bongo (no offence) that is playing on the North Rift’s radio speaker next to me at the back. Oh well, I might as well spill my thoughts on paper. (This time I actually did it on real tangible paper and took forever to transfer it to this place).
Nevertheless, deep down inside, I am happy.
